Assange to appear in court over extradition case

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is due to appear in a London court Tuesday in his fight against extradition to Sweden, where he is wanted for questioning over alleged sex crimes, a media report said. District Judge Nicholas Evans will oversee a case management hearing at Belmarsh magistrate’s court, sitting at Woolwich crown court in southeast London, as preparations continue for a two-day extradition hearing starting Feb 7, the Guardian reported. A high court judge released Assange on bail last month after he spent nine days in Wandsworth prison in London.
