Sensex trades in tight range, broader markets gain


A benchmark index for an Indian equities market Wednesday was trading in a tight range even as broader markets saw moderate buying activiy.
Sensex closes 93 points up


A benchmark index of the Indian equities market closed 93 points higher Friday. The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 20,412.76 points closed at 20,482.46 points (provisional), up 93.39 points or 0.46 percent, from its previous close of 20,389.07 points. At the National Stock Exchange 50-share S&P CNX Nifty ended 0.42 percent higher at 6,127 points.
Sensex opens 58 points up on positive global cues


A benchmark index of Indian equities opened 50 points higher Wednesday, taking positive cues from global stocks. The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened at 20,118.82 points, up 58.50 points from the previous close, after gaining nearly one percent Tuesday. At the National Stock Exchange C&X Nifty also opened in positive.

Sensex closes with marginal loss


A benchmark index of Indian equities markets Tuesday nudged lower, with buying in metal stocks helping the index to recover about 134 points from the low-point of the day. The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 19,982.9 points, ended at 19,943.55 points (provisional) – down 37.76 points or 0.19 percent from its previous close at 19,981.31 points. At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the 50-share S&P CNX Nifty shut shop at 5,985.3 points, down 0.12 percent.

The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 19,529.99 points, was ruling at 19,650.11 points, up 128.86 points or 0.66 percent from its previous close at 19,521.25 points. At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was trading at 5,904.7 points, up 0.72 percent.
Sensex moves up in morning trade


A benchmark index of Indian equities was ruling 130 points higher in Monday morning trade compared to its previous close. The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 19,230.34 points, was ruling at 19,266.69 points, up 130.08 points or 0.68 percent from its previous close at 19,136.61 points. At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was trading at 5,785.4 points, up 0.58 percent.
Sensex closes 315 points higher


A benchmark index of Indian equities Monday closed 315 points higher with heavyweight scrips ICICI Bank, HDFC and Bharti Airtel gaining the most. The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 20,272.49 points, closed at 20,347.9 points (provisional), up 315.56 points or 1.58 percent from its previous close at 20,032.34 points.
Sensex surges 336 points


A benchmark index of Indian equities Monday built on its morning gains and was ruling 336 points higher in afternoon trade.
